Savour Canada, held at the Food and Hotel China trade show, was an opportunity for select Chinese food distributors, importers, retailers and media representatives to taste and appreciate high quality Canadian food and beverage products. Organized by the Canadian Consulate in Shanghai, attendees had the chance to sample Canadian pork, beef and seafood prepared by celebrity chef, Clinton Zhu.
Red Gate worked with Agriculture and Agri-foods Canada (AAFC) and the Canadian Consulate in Shanghai to secure the attendance of, and coverage from over 40 print and television media for the event itself; as well as over 10 media at chef, Clinton Zhu’s, press conference. Hello Allô Canada: Bringing Canada to the Streets of Shanghai
Attracting 400,000 people over three days as well as exposure from 40 media outlets, Red Gate conceived and executed all aspects of Hello Allô Canada, a large-scale event promoting Canadian culture and businesses. Red Gate partnered with the Canadian Consulate in Shanghai, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Luwan District Government to bring the event to the streets of Shanghai in November 2008.
Red Gate was responsible for all event logistics and materials, organizing on-site art by Canadian artists, exhibition spaces, vendors, contests and a range of international performances. Red Gate produced a video specifically for screening at the Hello Allô event as well as a video of the event itself.
Red Gate partnered with the CCBC Shanghai Chapter to create a large celebration for Canada Day at Shanghai Stadium in 2006. In 2007, Red Gate executed the event, again with CCBC, creating the popular concept of “Canadian Idol” (a public singing competition), which has since become a fixture of many Canadian events in Shanghai. The event was held at Luwan Stadium and utilized the jumbo-tron to show Canadian videos and promote Canadian companies. These events attracted thousands of participants and media coverage and helped promote the Canada in Shanghai.
