A grand circus, Canadian whiskey, live & silent auctions and some of Shanghai’s finest gourmet foods were all part of a spectacular night of live music, dancing and entertainment at the annual Maple Leaf Ball organized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (CanCham Shanghai) and proudly supported by Red Gate.
Dr. Mark Ceolin, President of Red Gate and Founding Chairman of CanCham Shanghai, and several members of the Red Gate team were on hand for the annual gala.
Red Gate Whiskey Toast
Dr. Ceolin led the audience of more than 200 Canadian business executives, government officials and friends of the Canadian business community in the traditional Red Gate Whiskey Toast.
With Canadian whiskey and a Red Gate branded cocktail stirrer handed out to the tables, Dr. Ceolin toasted to a celebration of the continued success of Canadian business in China and the positive impact Canadians and Canadian companies play in China.
In addition to leading the toast, Dr. Ceolin served as the event auctioneer. The live & silent auction helped raise funds for several worthy charities, including Community Roots China and Educating Girls in Rural China.
A circus performance also left a lasting mark at this year’s gala. Throughout the main program, attendees were treated to thrilling shows that included dance, acrobatics and other circus elements.
CanCham Shanghai’s 7th Annual Maple Leaf Ball: Le Cirque CanCham took place at the Grand Hyatt Shanghai on Saturday, November 1, 2014.
